McCain-Palin: A Bridge to Nowhere
Now that Crash McWrinkles and Caribou Barbie have had their brief moment in the media spotlight, what have we learned about their plans for the country?
Nothing.
The RNC Convention was a predictable mix of the same old tired attack rhetoric, fearmongering and hypocrisy, delivered by the usual cast of rich white guys, Stepford Wives and sad hangers-on like Holy Joe Lieberman.
The rich irony of McCain promising to leave the partisan politics of Washington behind after 3 days of demonizing Democrats in general, unions, community organizers, and Barack Obama in particular was truly breathtaking.
Attempting to cast himself as an "outsider" and "agent of change" showed the complete lack of self-awareness so familiar to students of the GOP - the only "change" visible was the surprise pick of Palin as VP, and given her extremist views it isn't really change at all, just a gimmick designed to garner attention for a failing campaign.
